Default You do "what" for a living?

Interesting news snippet reporting how what you do for a living adds to your premium regardless of it's relevance:

I'd already been told about this and knew that if I put "Web designer" it would affect my premium far worse than the term "computer programmer". It makes you wonder how they dream these things up...

Probably because web developers are seen as more 'artsy' whereas programmers are seen as more calculating and logical? I agree it's bloody stupid though.

I can sort of see that in a way.

As a VAT inspector I have to live by the civil service code of conduct and am expected to have a high degree of integrity and honesty. Shame it was implemented by politicians that seem to want it from us but are unable to abide by it themselves

So to some degree in actuarians eyes Im less likely to be a risk than perhaps other professions. After all it would be actuarians looking at accident rates by occupations that would be behind this.

Im tempted to get quotes for me as a tax inspector or civil servant next time.... see what comes out less Though if they offer it 17.5% cheaper for cash there'll be some questions asked

Computer Manager vs IT Manager, the second being more expensive but both more or less the same.
