Default Bike Touch Up Paint

Hi, my bike needs a touch of paint on the tank, I see theres touch up bottles on ebay, which you can also order the lacquer with, is it safe to use these? and is it easy?

also, is there only one shade of blue curvy?

2 shades of blue, the shade from 99 was different to the 2000 shade.

If your bike is a "Y" model, then the colour you want is Grand Candy Blue, code YC2.

As for touch ups, in my experience I've always made a complete a$$ of the job with a touch up brush. But then, the phrase bull at a gate springs to mind when I had a go!

Well that rules me out then lol

Im useless with things like that.

other than the tank, i also want to repaint my old seat cowl in the blue, as mine is red

sooooo.... would a bottle last on a seat cowl? i may as well experiment on it!

My bike is an X-Reg, so will it be the latter of the 2 blue colours?

You might be best with a can of aerosol for spraying the cowell if you want it colour matched.

As for the tank, how badly scratched is it?

not badly, just a few little niggles. you know, the annoying ones that you notice one at a time, every time you get on it!

so you reckon that spray paint would be best?

I've got a couple of those marks as I ride with a tank bag, and know what you mean. I'm looking to get some of that clear stuff what people are bigging up to try and make sure I don't get many more in the future, but

As for the cowell, I reckon spray is easier to get a good finish with and is quicker. The only thing is, I've heard rumours about this blue being hard to get right.

Unfortunately, I'm in the same boat with the colour of blue and need to get some paint myself to spray the top right fairing piece! I hope those rumours are wrong!

'I am hard yet soft, I am coloured yet clear, I am fruity yet sweet, I am jelleh.... ..... ..... what am I....?'

'By day tis bright but by night... tis as black as a black mans cape!'
'You know thats a window?'
'Ah-Yeeees'

'Chocolate cake chocolate cake... have you any nuts? The chocolate cake has.... no nuts...'

I could go on... quite blatently the best Little Britain character!

Indeed the best character!

So long as you take your time with the sprayin you should be reet, just dont try and put too much on at once or you'll end up with plenty of runners!

You'll have to let me know how you get on as I'll be getting some paint shortly.
