Default Quill Road Legal Can (Problems)

I've got a Quill T3 Carbon end can on my SV.

Problem is the carbon on the top of the can is starting to discolour (Looks like its burnt).

Anyone had this problem.

Was thinking about giving the manufacturers a ring, not sure how far I'll get tho as i did'nt buy the can.

Sounds like it needs repacking.

Thats what I would have though, but is hardly done any millage. I've got the receipt with the paperwork, it was bought less than a year ago at the bike show (Prob done a few thousand miles). Its a bit ****e if it needs repacking already. Its not noisy. Also there are a few pin holes appearing in the laquer.

It's the V twin pulses. Smacks the **** out of the packing in exhausts. Some people don't recomend carbon on V twins. You can generally get cans re-packed and re-sleeved, but it is a ****er if the can is relatively new. Call Quill and see what they say.

Will do. if i get it repacked it will still look ****e with the mark on it . might just use it as an excuse to get a race can. and save this one for mot time.

Carbon will only discolour or 'pinhole'/crack if the packing is knackerd/faulty. Speak to Quill. If you have the recipt, then you should be ok IMHO.

Cans need repacking avery 5-6k on an SV as a rule of thumb, all depending on how they are abused

I may be wrong, but I'm reasonably sure the T3 can't be repacked in the normal way. Give quill a ring and see what they say. Some companies sort this kind of thing out quite well.
