Just wondering what is happening to the SV community based on some recent bike related transactions I have undertaken.

As many of you know I tend to have all sorts of SV related parts lying around to support the MiniTwins race series and quite often sell parts to users of the site.

Several people have recently agreed to purchase second hand SV parts from me and have even arranged convenient times to come over and collect them. Invariably the collection gets cancelled at the last minute and I get a message saying that they will have to wait until they get paid.

This wouldn't be a problem as I am usually happy to hold on to things for people except that the same people continue to seek the same parts elsewhere and even go as far as buying them from people I know without having the courtesy to let me know what is going on.

Do you think I being unreasonable or would it be much more helpful for people to be honest and let me know they've sourced things from elsewhere or are planning to look for older/different items in the mean time, etc.?

It's a real shame that a few people let down the group as a whole as most of the people I have dealt with have been great and the trades I do go without a hitch.

Thanks for listening.

That's pretty poor... I think you're spot on TBH Mike, there's no call for it.

Mike ,

You are not being unreasonable at all.

People like that are complete ****s(and that is just putting it mildly). Really one of the things I hate about peeps.
It's bad enough not keeping to your word but when you do not have the decency/courtesy to let you know .........

Cheers
Ben

No Mike I do not think it's unreasonable at all. It must make you think about changing your mind offering those parts to people here. Please don't, as I for one have already benefited more than once on your offers in the for sale section. As I have with Ben as well.

Thank you both.

It is indeed a little sh*tty how some people have treated you but you should not be too surprised? At times people will chase their own backside just to save a few pence here and there. Bad manners is often also part of the deal. However in the spirit of free enterpise many will look to source at a more attractive price and then feel a little embarassed to come back to you.
