Default Restoring my exhaust, chrome / anodise?

Just a quickie,

I've a new exhaust system waiting to go on the bike but it needs a bit of a polish. I was thinking of either getting it chromed or anodised but i'm not sure where to get these done or if these treatments are even suitable for the high temperature situation.

Just to be clear this will be for my link pipes between the mid section and the carbon end boxes.

Thanks for any information

There's various other high-temp coatings available, ceramic and the like. I don't know all that much about them but I understand they're a good option. Can you anodise stainless?

You can buy high temp exhaust paint but it's not knwon for durability.

What sort of exhaust did you get?

Very good Greg Elbow grease isn't going to change it's colour or chrome it!

North, you're right i think in that you can't anodise stainless. It's one of these so you see a fair bit of the link pipes:

my friend tells me that there is no point repainting or treating an exhaust for durability purposes, as they always rust from the inside first.

but from a cosmetic point of view . . . save on the elbow grease. but probably be more worthwile getting a stainless steel exhaust system.

The Rene is a stainless steel exhaust system. Or 1/2 system as it were. The Suzuki parts are stainless, as are Renegades.

What's actually wrong with the link pipes as they are? Have they bronzed/yellowed? If that's all it is, that polishes off...

They've browned in places, and the midsection is horrid (as they all get) and i can't really be bothered to try and restore it as it would take a lot of elbow work.

I want to clean mine up a bit pre-winter. What polish do people recommend for the exhaust? And my front forks look a bit patchy - how do I restore them to their rightful glory?
