Default maximum to drop fork through yokes

HI,

I am doing the last tweaking on my wife's bike, she has K1650s with the long dog bones. I haven't got a clue how much it dropped the back we bought them a long time ago the only thing I can remember is that they are TUV tested. (also cut down the seat).

I am not where the bike is at the moment will be doing maintenance and installing some bits next week. My wife is riding the bike like it is now but she is only 5ft so she is still tiptoeing. I want the drop the front fork to bring everything back in line. What is the maximym drop that people have done before? I am thinking between 10-15 mm.

Thanks for the info. We are moving back to the uk next year so hope to see you on the road. I just need to get a ride first though.

cheers
Dennis

Maximum before things start making contact with stuff they shouldn't I believe is about 15mm(can't remember weather that is including with the fork cap or not)

When I had the original forks on my bike mine were 15mm including the fork cap and it was fine. Best thing my be to check by removing the fork caps and slowly compressing the forks till they bottom out. You'll of course need a trolley jack an dmaybe a couple of folks to help.

Were the longer dogbones Suzuki? If so you could always ring a Dealer and find out how much they drop the bike at the back.

Cheers
Ben
