Default Yamaha FS1e / Suzuki AP50

Hi,

I've got a real itch to re-live my glory days of 16 again and get myself a Fizzy or AP50. I've been looking on e-bay but would also consider buying direct from a restorer. I live in Southampton.
Does anyone know of anyone who restores and sell these within a reasonable distance?
Anyone got one for sale?

Cheers!

I hope you've got plenty of money spare - there's a lot of old blokes like you who have the same itch - these sort of bikes are changing hands for surprising figures nowadays.

I bought my KH250 brand new in 1976 for 610 pounds. What would a Fizzie have been, about 300?

Keep an eye out on eBay, but be prepared to dig deep. Good examples are commanding well into 4 figures.

Easy.

Fit the barrel, carb and pipe from an earlier one.

Thanks for this - excuse my ignorance but what do you mean by the barrel? I'm being thick I know but am not sure. Buying a restricted model seems to be a much cheaper option.
PS Less of the 'old man' please!
regards

Yes you are. The barrel is the cylinder barrel. Sits on the crankcase and under the cylinder head in which the piston travels up/down.

FS1E eh. watch out for that baffle blocking up with lots of crap and reducing your excessive power
