Default Suzuki GS1200 SS - faired round lights come flashing back

Anyone catch a glimpse of the Suzuki GS1200 SS? Looks like manly bikes used to back in the '80's. Black metal, big motor, round lights and a clipped Kamm style tail. Now available with all the modern tech bits 'n bobs, very smart. I reckon it's a stunner, especially in all black guise.

BAT Motorcycles had one of these in a couple of years back. IIRC it was brand new and kind of expensive, £5k plus for a tarted up 1200 Bandit...
They can get you one new from Japan if you really want..

Tell you what, buy a tatty early 1200 bandit for, say 1500, stick on some sprayed black old GSXR 1100 bodywork, get MHP in Woking to make up a looky-likey big rear silencer can. Polish the engine cases, er thats it. Call it £2,500... Who wants one?

It was suggested that Suzuki would be bringing these in about 2 or 3 years ago, haven't heard anything about them since.

It's a tribute... Though they've decided to pay tribute to the ugliest GSXR ever made, for some reason. Even the slabbies have the nicer front end to balance it out.

Definitely has that bulbous 80's Bol D'or rep look to it doesn't it? Cant possible see how that would be a winner on the sales front myself. The last thing any manufacturer wants in the present new bike sales climate is a white elephant.
