The best way to tell is to simply use it and see if it wobbles... A bent disc shouldn't cause total loss of braking though. I take it you've tried pumping the lever a few times? Does it feel normal apart from not braking?

has it possibly cut the pipe feeding the cylinder
if not perhaps a good bleed will bring it back check carefully that it has not cracked any part of the caliper or the retaining arm. |

Or maybe whacked a bleed nipple? Something like that. Your symptoms wouldn't be caused by a bent disc.

If any of the above are the case, you will find that your brake lever travel should be extended further than before without any resistance. But you would have probably noticed brake fluid on the ground.

Yes I have seen this problem before on television.
This chap had to push the brake all the way down to the ground to stop at all. It never went on to explain the cause but you could mail him..... FredFlintstone@cartoonnetwork.com Sorry, couldn't help it ![]() |

Pingu...Very good mate!
Could the bang have made the pistons jam up in the caliper? They might somehow be slightly out of skew thus causing lots of pedal movement but little braking action? It's only me but I would never ever place a disc lock on the back wheel as somehow it just seems far easier to forget about. You need it on the bike but as visible as possible, not only to yourself but potential thieves also. Hope the p`roblem is not too grave mate. ![]() |
