Default Oil levels

So can anyone tell me how much oil it takes to get the level in the sight glass from low to full on a pointy please. Today was able to go on a real nice long ride (did back in and was off the bike since xmas). Checked level of oil to find it at low mark....have never topped it up before

just add very little slowly, until its where you want it because it can rise quickly

Some folk, including me, have found that too high an oil level can cause difficulty selecting neutral (and often first) - keeping it between high and low made a big difference.

As above, add it a little at a time otherwise it's a real pain to have to undo the sump bolt if you overfill.

If you do overfill by mistake, it's easier to slacken off the filter to let a little out.

Best not to overfill at all though!

If anyone finds it useful....took 3/4 litre to get it from the low line to the full line

Default oil level

I slightly overfilled mine and went to the trouble of undoing the sump plug to drain some out.
I'm glad I did as it was quite a bit over-filled. Even if you fill her slowly, you need to stop well before the MAX line as the level continues to rise after you've stopped putting oil in
