Default meta alarm problems

I've got a meta M357T V2, and after disconnecting the battery while fitting heated gloves the key fob doesn't work so the bike won't start The immobiliser was armed but not the alarm when the battery was disconnected.

I thought it may have gone into sleep mode, but turning the ignition on doesn't help when pressing the key fob, with nothing happening and the led not flashing at all.

Does anybody have one of these alarms and have any idea of what may have happened? I don't have any docs for it.

Thanks

Jon

I won't swear to it but it may be that the "rolling code" on the transmitter has got out of sync with the unit itself.

Try this: http://www.metasystem.co.uk/index.ph...view/full/2504

Alternatively, Meta are in Worcester or nearby - from memory they have a tech services office. Ring them.

have you tried the manual override to get the bike started?

Thanks for the links

I've spoken to meta, who pointed me to a dealer. Called the dealer and they were very helpful - had checked most of what they suggested (fuse etc), but they can supply a new alarm. If the alarm turns out not to be the issue then I can send it back and get a refund.

I'll keep you updated.

(Dr Rich, will drop you a PM. All is good, just very busy )

Unfortunately the led doesn't even flash, so I can't do that. It looks like it may be completely dead.

Can someone confirm something for me.

A freind of mine bought a bike with a meta alarm on it, the old owner did not know what the pin number was.

Meta say they cannot help him at all to find it out for security reasons even if he now owns the bike and can proove it.

He is stuck as its the only fob he has and he also wants to change the settings on the alarm but without the pin thats not possable.

Any ideas.

I don't have the pin for mine either, and I was told the same as your friend. Luckily I have both key fobs. Well, it would be lucky, if the alarm was working
