Default Help!!!! SV1000s or CBR600f?????

Please, be objective and take me your opinion. Suzuki or Honda.

The price is very similar, at lest in my country: Spain

I like a litle more the look of cbr but 600 vs. 1000?

I don't know what to do. Please help and never lie.

The thing is, they're wildly different. So it's not a question of which is better (and they're both good), more a question of which is best for you. You have to decide if you want a big twin or a middle-weight IL4.

********!

sseto: What do you want the bike for? Fun? Commuting? Long distance work?

All of the above?

oh now this is a good question, one I pondered myself.

The CBR-f is a very practical bike, comfy for miles and miles, good tank range, lots of underseat space, honda build quality, runs for absolutely miles with NO attention (with a scotloiler of course) - a guy in work NEVER does anything to his and has done 40K miles with about one or two services total (never even checks the oil), worst looking CBR I've ever seen but still running and goes ton up at least twice a week

BUT lacking in serious grunt, torque is same as the sv650 (give or take a couple of ft/lb) whilst peak power is less then the SV1K

The SV1000 is far more a personality bike, more torque, vastly more entertaining engine and more power, "fun" without actually doing anything. But cannot be left to rot like the CBR can, after all, the badge says Suzuki, not H*nd*.

Its the old argument, The CBR-f is the very stereotype of h*nd*, VERY reliable, and very textbook bike, as much fun as you alone are willing to make it. Is that a good thing or no? Much as I praise silly bikes for being different and entertaining on their own (buell, gsxr, sv1K), it must be nice to just ride without numb ****, interesting roundabouts, fear of road salt and still scare the bejesus out of yourself when you want to.

Here we go again.........

IL4 or V2, that is the question....... Well actually it's not. What do I want to do AND how do I prefer to ride ?

If you ride an SV650 in the red most of the time, if yo are not into the "lazy" low down grunt of a vee twin, and if you want a much better tank range, the CBR600F is the way to go.

If however you want none of the above, then go with a big twin... IL4's are smooth and have a much higher rev range. V2's are viby, pull from the bottom of the rev range and dring fuel like it's going out of fashion.

Don't listen to what people say, Honda's are as much fun as any bike, they're just good at what they do, so some people call that "bland". I know, I've got one and would always have at least 1 Honda in my garage......

Default SV 1000 v CBR 600f

I have owned both and enjoyed them equally.
What do you require it for its still going to be a hard choice thats why i have both as well as a SV650s.
Good luck cant go wrong on either tho.

PS as you have joined this forum maybe you should just pick the SV.

Neither.

I'd get the double R - if you are gonna go for that type of bike do it properly. Otherwise the SV1000.

I was crippled after I went from a Bandit to the SV but I got used to it in time. I used to get off after 20 miles and be unable to stand up straight for a minute whereas now I can do 100+ or whatever and jump straight off.

I'd get the RR for the looks because it's not like I would really be riding it any quicker on public roads. If it cripples me like the SV I will just grin and bear it until I get used to it.

A chap at work said he had been touring all across europe on one and never had any problems just as people have done on the SV so I put any pain down to me being a lightweight.
