Default Beltdriven SV 650

I did found this on the german page www.mobile.de
If some one know German better than me and if someone could e-mail and ask the company (Joachim's Motorradhandel, www.suzukiplus.de) how they have done it.

How do you change the belt or .... ? what is the gear ratio

You can find this advert by selecting "Motorräder suchen" and then
chose Suzuki, type in SV 650 and put the price between "unter 1000€" and 3000€ then you will get an advertise like the one below.

Here are a picture of the screen dump of the advert.http://www.mp-foorumi.com/gallery/pi...eb766d7f93.jpg

Have someone done this

Mats

Right I've had a good look at the website and been playing with some translation tools. From what I can work out they will supply a belt drive for the SV650, or as the know it, tooth strap (Zahnriemenumbau).
The cost 1,190 euro's though its not clear if that is for their fitting. I've sent them a e-mail but all there information is on this page:
Belt drives
They also state that the belts service life is about 30,000 Km with any thing up 50,000 being achived. (18641 to 31068 miles)

Uuuuurrggghhhh....

It looks just like the ride on mower I have

And I've replaced more belts on that than I've actually cut the grass with it

Not good chaps!

They tend to last longer than chains, no chain lubing or lube fling.

No I don't like that at all. The "sprocket" looks nearly as big as the wheel, urgh! Surely a well maintained chain lasts as long, especially with a scotoiler.

Yup... a well maintained chain will last longer. Belts aren't that reliable beyond 15-20k miles, especially on a twin with all that yanking torque.

Have a look at the Buel users

Won't that huge "sprocket" give you some lovely gear ratio's?
