Default brakes

decided to service the brakes and read everyones problems with trepidation, did the front brakes found no problems, until i started on the rear ones what a nightmare, the calipers came off ok couldnt get the pins out couldnt split the caliper had to grind the heads off and still drill the back of the caliper to drift out the pins. the new puppy ran off with that tiny rubber washer and it is only available in a seal kit.into the holes i drilled in the caliper i screwed a plastic screw to keep dirt out but i think i just move the pins about as someone else suggested or get stainless ones

That doesn't sound like fun. Think I'll be taking my bike to the dealer when it needs the brakes fiddling with.

I just replaced my caliper with a nice condition used one... really couldn't see much point in spending any amount of time sorting it when a nicer one was around a tenner.
