Default New can fitted, water or condensation?

Hello all!

Got the hacksaw out this weekend and chopped the original pipe off the curvy.
(Always worrying but once you've started!)

Fitted a carbon can co. stainless steel, I'll say anodised blue, but really it's just heat treated.

Anyhooo. Started her up, sounds lovely. Only thing is, there seems to be a water 'mist' coming from the link pipe end. It's clear so I can assume condensation. I'd expect it to come from tail end as it's not been ridden for a while now, but not from link pipe end (see red arrow in photo for exact area) It's not leaking from the link pipe but actually from the can join. Near rivets, if that makes sense..

Before you say :P picture is 'googled' as I'm at work and not had time to take pic. It's just showing exactly where problem is on my bike. (Although bike in photo is an SV..)

Question is, is this normal? I spoke to the guys at CCC and they say yes..
I'm not so sure..

(Oh yes, and the obligatory start up without pipe on was done. f**king noisy!!)

I don't know if it's meant to do that! I'd think there was something up with it if it did that to me. Hopefully someone will have had one fitted and will know - sounds a bit dodgy though

condensation does leak from cans, some cans have a drain hole in to let it out yours is prob just leaking from the joint.

it's at the lowest part of the exhaust can.. I put it down to condensation heating up and escaping... don't worry about it...
Go for a ride or get the bike up to working temp and see if it still there...
I suspect a bit of dampness in the packing.

i always had a drop of condensation leak from my old cbr and i get it leaking from the bottom joint of my link tube on my scorpion aswell.
hot and cold together makes condensation, your exhaust is defo hot and the weather is defo cold.

Yeah.
Me thinks it's probably just 'bedding in' as such

Will see how it goes and check after a long ride. It'll probably cure itself.
I'm not overly concerned, just thought I'd ask for opinons. (Thanks!)

I was told there is a tiny drain hole in the original can. To be honest I haven't had a chance to look...... (and jeez, aren't they heavy!)

Will keep an eye on it. The sound and look far outweigh the 'problem', if you can call it a problem

'Sensible' car, 'sensible' bike

I drive a focus too! Not sure if it spits though!

I do have a chrome tailpipe trim, mind, but that's an OEM part!

.....
