Default pointy fairing lowers problem

Hi,

I've had a bolt missing from my fairing lowers on the offside since I bought it, its the bolt that screws into the lower part of the radiator. On the nearside it fits nicely with an M6 x 25mm button head bolt with an alloy spacer, however on the offside the hole in the lowers appears to be offset to the hole in the radiator, see the picture below ....

I've removed the lowers and tried jiggling them around when refitting them to get it to go but it doesn't really seem right. Am I missing a small bracket or something ?

I've got another m6 x 25mm button head bolt and I've had an identical spacer made up to match the other side, is there something else I need ?

Thanks in advance.

Tom

I had exactly the same problem, i think it's because the fairing brackets that come with the kit are so hard to get level with having to try and hold them in postion whilst torgue tightning. I got around it by putting R&G crash protectors on, the brackets you put on for the bunges are in exctly the right postion for the fairing to fit properly. Killing to birds with one stone, fairing fitting properly and protection.

I forgot to mention that even though my fairing is all lined up i can't put a bolt in the right hand side hole that srews into the bottom of the radiator, the radiator seems to be to far over to the left of the bike, the fairing seems to be secure so i'm not to worried.

Thanks for the reply.

Yeah, I've just fitted R&Gs and I thought that I might be able to get the bolt to fit during the process ...... no such luck though. You're right the fairing does seem to be secure and I'm sure it will never be a problem ...... but its annoying !!

So are you saying that I'm not missing a bracket from either the radiator or the mounting point down by the footpeg ? On the near side there is a small bracket down by the footpeg but not on the offside ....

Cheers

I'm poo at taking pictures, when looking at them, rotate them clockwise through 90 degrees.

Thanks Mate, thats really really useful.

Careful in the snow !

Those indicator lenses do look good, I may well get involved in some of those.

Cheers
