Word on the street is...

Alvins Motocal closed down last night. I needed a tyre repair and spent a lot of time trying to call them this morning and couldn't get through. Then I was in another establishment and they took a call from someone who said 'Guess what?' Anyone hear anything, it may be a false alarm?

PS, ****. Off to 2 Wheels I go. That's going to leave a huge, huge hole in the Edinburgh bike market. Wonder how long it'll be before someone small and rubbish moevs in to take up a Suzuki dealership without half the capacity?

Two Wheels mate, after Alvins they're the best we've got left Where's the nearest Suzuk parts supplier, Cupars?

Wonder if they'll be having a garage sale?

In an attempt to put an end to all the rumours we thought it fitting to let our customers know the facts of the situation.

First and foremost the rumour of our pending closure is true. As of 5.30pm on 29th March 2006, the doors will be closed for trading.

Over the last 2 years, since the Alvins.com & MotoCal merger, we have been working very hard to provide a service to the biking public that was second to none. Thanks to your support we have continued to improve that service and enjoyed the opportunity to work with you.

Unfortunately however the ongoing struggle with ever increasing overheads has begun to affect our ability to provide a service, to the standard we would like, and you would expect.

This being the case, and in an attempt to minimise any potential dissatisfaction, we are faced with no option but closure. We can assure you, that all our suppliers will be working hard to ensure continued support and representation of their products.

Once more may we thank you for all your support, pre and post merger.

We hope to have the opportunity to work with you in the future, in more favourable circumstances.
