Hi All,
Please be gentle. I have a SV650S K4, before anyone asks. ![]() I've just picked up some HEL brake lines (Part No. HBK7646) and I've read everything I can about fitting and problems. However, I've noticed that the ends, banjos, (the circular bits that the bolt goes through) would need to be twisted 90 degrees to fit. What I mean is the banjo bolts on the front caliper run front to back and on the brake lever run right to left. On the HEL lines the banjos at both ends of the hoses are facing the same way. So I would need to twist the line to make it fit, something which the instructions tell you not to do. This is also true of the rear line. Is this normal and should I just get on with it or should I return the lines? Any help would be much appreciated. |

not fitted braided lines to my bike but if you have any concerns it may be worth phoning HEL and asking their advice first. If they say it's fine to alter them as above then geat, if not they may be able to check the lines you have are correct for your bike. The company I work for takes a fairly dim view of people trying to force something to fit that clearly wont, breaking it and then asking to return it

I rang HEL about this, they told me to twist the ends as has been suggested, or offered to do it for me if I sent them back. I did them myself no probs.

Thanks for the replies everyone, spoken to HEL myself today and they confirmed that its OK to twist the Banjos, only as much as necessary to make a good fit though.
