Default My mate rode my SV yesterday...

We went down to an industrial estate and swapped bikes (he has a ZX6R)... ( I have insurance for other bikes but he doesnt otherwise we'd use proper roads)

While he wasnt giving my bike any stick (the engine braking scares him somewhat!!) I could not get over how loud my bike is!

I have a Scorpion can with the baffle out, and yeah I know its noisy, but THAT noisy? I'm very surprised I've not been pulled for it yet!!!

I know what you mean mate. My SV is the loudest bike I've heard (not heard any other unbaffled SV's yet). Everytime I pull up to a group of bikes they seem to back away from me. I guess there is some mental aspect that thinks if a bike is loud it must be really fast. SV's rock!

Mind you I do recall being sat at Alton Cafe last year when some lad (who looked about 12 incidentally) started up his TL1000R. My god my inner ears nearly exploded. It was almost like having no pipe at all. I'll have to be careful with my bike and the cops, if they hear me give it some will will pull me for sure.

My mate took my thou for a wee shot.... he came back 1 HOUR later with a grin on his face. He also damn near used all the rear tyre edge to edge, and I could hear him caning the bike almost half a mile away through the twisties near his house....also along the nearby 2 mile long straight at the back of his house. God only knows what speed he was doing

That's what people say when they sit behind me on runs - damn that sounds good!!I run twin scorpions (baffles out) on my thou. It's quite distinctive, other bikers think it's a ducati as I'm coming down the gearbox into the Green Welly Stop, Tyndrum. Then they say "It's an SV, we thought it was a Mille or a Ducati arriving".

The BMW boys on their quiet machines give me the look, as if to say "that's taking the p*ss, the noise level of those exhausts".

Mine is no where near as loud as a mate of a mates SP2 is. Mille's tend ot be quite quiet on the scale of things!
