Mileage on the engine shouldn't be that bad, fair bit of life in it yet. A-classes themselves do have a reputation for falling apart in your hands though....

We have a T reg A170 that's gone well past 100k and it's fine. Does 65mpg if you keep the rev's around 2500 and its a semi-automatic (Tiptronic - manual change gearbox and no clutch pedal) 1.7CDI so does go well.
Never had anything major go wrong on it at all. Jax bought it with only 6000 miles on it, 6yrs ago. Electric window fuse sometimes moves in the fusebox, but it just needs reseating occasionally. Service them regularly. They are mercedes and they run and run. Bonnet and windscreen are prone to stone chips coz of the sloping style front. Just make sure that it's been serviced properly.

Jax has THRASHED ours, she thinks she's participating in a full-on rally whenever she's driving. Ours hasn't fallen apart. Never ever had a problem.

You can remove all the seats, and if you have the long wheel based version then you could probably fit the SV in it. Though the boot lip makes that idea a no no, there are even 'strap' points in the floor.
The largest object we've had in there was a double bed and mattress, with the boot shut and rear seats removed.
