Default Why bother paying for insurance?

This has got me so shocked angry and fumed that I am ready to kill the next uninsured **** I come across.

Last year me and my buddy are out for a ride from Slough to Bracknell and were coming along Kings Ride by Heatherwood hospital (luckily). We are approaching a left hand bend doing less than the speed limit (40mph) when this total ****ing idiot coming the other way on a ZX9R ends up in our lane and hits my mate who was riding in front of me. This **** was going way too fast, had his girlfriend on the back who was wearing tracksuit bottoms, trainers and a hoody by the way. They smash into each other in our lane bikes and people go flying, I manage to slam on the anchors and avoid being hit by flying bikes. At the end of it the other guy who caused the accident had no injuries and neither did his pillion. My mate only suffered a broken toe as we were both suited up even on the hot day. Turns out that after inspecting his bike both tyres were illegal, he had no tax and no insurance. As we were waiting for the ambulance he then boasts to me "That's the second time I've gone wide on that bend today". At this point I just lost it, I told him with any luck next time he'll hit a truck. A bad thing to say but in the heat of the moment.....you know. Anyway a year on the other ride went to court but never got prosecuted. He was driving dangerously on an illegal bike with no insurance or tax and caused an accident that could have killed poeple and they let him off with a small fine. WHAT THE ****!?!!?!?!?!? Not only that but as he was un-insured the accident goes down as my mates fault AND he looses 3 years no claims bonus as his insurance company could not recover the costs. So there you go folks save yourself a few hundred quid a year on tax, insruance and a road worthy bike. After all even if you are involved in an accident nothing will come of it.

Terrible...
Who's got the link for the uninsured driver's claim thing?

At the cost of my mate. He's lost enough cash through this whole ordeal. And the guy in unemployed so there is not much chance of recovering costs at this point.

Our laws and police are so inadequate on these issues. The first thing that should happen is that the police should be able to impound any vehicle that appears to be uninsured or where there is an issue about who the driver is.Then the court could order the sale of siezed assets to assist in compensating the other party. You won't stop these tossers but making them pay is a good first step.

Do you know where he lives? If so, torch his bike.

His bike was knackered after the crash. Not that it was worth much to begin with. He used to be a soldier based in Windsor I think but heard that he was booted out. Don't know if it was related to the crash or for something else.
