Default Immobiliser won't mobilise, any suggestions?

Hi, can anybody suggest a way of getting my bike on the road again. I had it towed back from Oxford Street after having to leave it there a few days.

I rode around one night and it felt really good and then I stopped to make a call and all of a sudden, when I went to turn it on again, it wouldnt start. The AA said its your immobiliser. How do I either turn it off and dissconnect it or take the whole thing off and replace it?

Its a Meta Systems one which was on the bike when I bought it. I have found the immobiliser but I think there is too much cabling to be obvious as to where to disconnect it.

The sound makes the bleep when I do the usual key fob squeeze but it doesnt allow any ignition... Any help would be fantastic.

Thanks in advance.

David

Are you sure its the immob?

If you unwrap the loom you should see lots of black wires going on wires. There will be 2 pairs, each of these pair will split a wire of exactly the same colour, just join the colours together one at a time to see if its just 1 relay in the alarm thats gone or both.

They connected some cables and it nearly started so he is convinced it is the immobiliser.

I'll let you know what I blow up!

OK, so I have a set of 3 wires and 3 sets of 2 wires... they are all black but they go off to different colours.

They are soldered to the other colour wires, should I cut the wires and leave the other colour wire to just hang there?

I feel like im defusing some kind of explosive. Ha ha

I've got a meta. If its like mine you would have got a red bit of plastic with the PIN on it. You can use the PIN number to disable the alarm IIRC. Have a google for the meta website and see if that can point you in the right direction.

Have you got a spare keyfob ? if so have you tried that ?

I did a search for the website and I couldnt find it, just resellers.
There is no red plastic thing with anything on it but there is a sticker which I think is metal backed as its really tough. The numbers on it have worn off mostly and so no information can be used which is on it.

I dont have another keyfob either.

I guess this is the very reason people ask for all the other information about stuff bought for bikes and cars... not that the guys at motoden even knew much about it other than it was from a customer of theirs anyway!

Not sure if this is going to be any help now but here is a link to instructions to Meta bike alarms from their website.
