Just thinking ahead now my GSXR front end swap is close.
What tool to loosen and tigthen those two 'custle' nuts on the stem below the top yoke ( the round ones with notchs cut out)? A C spanner, but then how can they be torqued properly afterwards ?? ![]() Cheers Kieran |

You can cheat if you have a grinder.
Get (preferably an old) socket with outer diameter the same as the castle nut. Grind away all but the 4 lugs. Make sure it's a size that fits your torque wrench of course!!!! You can probably buy these from Suzuki, but knowing their prices I didn't even look it up. |

I did mine with a brass punch and a hammer. Didn't torque it up by the book of course, but that's not really essential as long as it's right- 2 ways to skin a cat.

I agree - a punch and hammer works well, if youre bothered, you can check the tension on the headstock with a fisherman type scale (cant remeber the exact weight required offhand, maybe someone else can enligten or check net/forum for answer.) Munch.

For me the punch was a flat headed screwdriver and a hammer. The book says somthing like, tighten it enough till there is resistance moving the yokes then back off 1/4 of a turn then tighten the lock nut., i think.
