I have just got myself a GSX750 Inazuma to commute on - what a great bike.
Unfortunately the one I could not resist buying (1 owner, 8000 miles, serviced every 1000 miles - mint) is red and I really wanted a black one. I have covered most of the bodywork with electrical insulation tape to protect it and to change the colour - it actually looks quite good - like a matt black paint job with lines in it - very mean..... My question is, will the tape damage the paintwork with time, or become impossible to get off? I am pretty sure it will be OK, but am slightly concerned that it will harden to the point that it will not remove easily and keep breaking into little bits - which would take forever to remove. Any comments? |

Has the Sun been over the yardarm long enough for you to get as drunk as you sound?I've got some old carpet you can put over the tank if you want.

I bet you a pound it won't damage the paint. But it will be a ****ard to get off, the adhesive will go gummy when wet. The tape'll come off but it'll leave a lot of glue behind. Buy some isopropyl alcohol before you do this, I reckon.
