Default What is wrong???

Hellow everyone, I'm new here. My name is Tom,23 years old and I'm from belgium.

Today I bought a second handed SV650S from the year 2000. I drove it home and everything seemed to be ok. The bike went nice an smouth, but whem I came home this evening, there were a few drops of oil under the bike. I don't know where they come from. The bike hadn't driven in 2 years,so the oil must be replaced. Does anyone know if this thing is something serious? Thanx...

Hi, welcome! First off, try and see where it's coming from mate, not just "the engine" either :P When I first got mine it was leaking from the Breather on the underside of the airbox. You never know, it might just be chain lube mate.

Most common causes would be breather as Matt says, chain oil fling (not a leak at all of course) and my personal favourite, the clutch cover on the right hand side.

Clean it all up, then put clean newspaper underneath, ideally with the bike on a paddock stand. That'll show you where the oil's dripping off. Then follow the slug trail back up to where it's coming from.
