Default R&G Tail tidy

I've had a look on their site and the tail tidy doesn't appear to have the licence plate light fitted.

Difficult to be sure as they haven't got a full on shot with a plate on.

Anyone know for sure?

I have one, the light is shockingly bad, it rests between the twin brake light strips and glows faintly.

hmm...
Is it MOT Legal like that?

Will the rozzers tug on your chain for it?

What are the alternatives for a straight swap while keeping the law etc happy?

Why-o-why haven't suzuki designed their own straight swap?! You'd think they'd jump at a chance to gouge us some more.

Don't think it's MOT legal as the tail tidy doesn't have a red reflector for a start. Got 2 years until I worry about that though. Am possibly gonna dig out my OE snow shovel (if I find it) for MOT's. Haven't been pulled over by police for it but then I haven't noticed any cops behind me at night.

ive got one and no probs here, plate light is small and neat but as already been said it doesnt really light the plate up i think legal requirements are that you've got one not how good it is same with a reflector as long as you have one

TBH the hamicad is a better option. Even though the R&G people have always been very nice to me I still can't recommend the tail tidy.

It's very hard to fit (I think)
The plate light is woeful (and you have to fit your own connectors!)
You have to cut a hole in the plate for the light
or
You have to bend it at a very weird angle to stop the back wheel catching the plate (it happened to me)
There is no reflector (but you can get a stick on one for the plate)

Vs the hamicad

Easier to fit
Uses the OEM plate light
Has no wheel touching issues (as far as I am aware)
Can fit the OEM reflector on to the back of the plate light fitting

Also, evotech do a tail tidy that gets good reviews.

Not had these two problems, I do have a 1 inch smaller than normal plate on a lowered bike, have you been doing stoppies and slamming your rear tyre down hard? [/b]

No, I had a totally stock plate and bike. I hit a big bump and whack, off came the plate! I know it had hit the tyre because I had previously noticed the underside of the plate getting rubbed by the tyre.

And I'm not a fat porker!

Did you fit yours yourself? Was it easy? I found mine very hard to do right.
