Does anybody here have a set of custom made ear-plugs like the type often offered at race tracks?
If so, what do you have to say about them? Are they an improvement in comfort? Easily washed? I'm thinking of getting a set made up at Donington on Sunday if possible. |

Curium , if you get a pair and find them OK, could you post a link or the company name, was looking at www.greenleopard.co.uk but some of them seem a little expensive,
Thanks |

Try www.ultimateear.com they do made to measure earplugs from £55 upto £140.
They will be in the exhibition hall at the MotoGP, expect them to be busy! We use them at work, I think they are great but one or two of the other guys aren't too happy! Whatever you feel happiest with, I suppose. I wear mine for upto 8 hours in a shift, they are the monitor type, can be used with our radios and with an adaptor my I-Pod. |

Apparently the main problem is getting the mold right for when you're wearing a helmet.

They have various different options, the "half shell" type is best for bikers as it sits flush inside the ear. The problem with my "monitor" type is that the cable cuts into the ear lobe, after a while it does start to hurt.

yep I use ultimateear also.
I think they're brilliant. I bought them at the AllyPally over a year ago, and they work excellently. The only time I started to get excessive noise with them in, was after I got the flu/a virus which caused my ears to fix with wax this made a contact directly between my helmet, the earplug and my eardrum, a quick trip to the nurse to have my ears syringed fixed that. |

I can recommend Green Leopard plugs - 45 quid, worth their weight in gold!
One warning... check your speed! I was going 20mph faster 'cos it wasn't as noisy and I judged speed that way. |

Got a set of Green lepoard at the BMF show. Takes a bit of getting used to and I can really see how much my right ear has been chewed up playing rugby.
