![]() and this http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/...nd/5094262.stm ![]() It all seems a bit senseless to me to be honest... Is it because the Scottish are unable to say "Purple Burglar Alarm" |

Why we don't know but its not common.
actual attacks are rare but verbal abuse is rife. And before i get pelted by SV ecosse lot it is a minority that spoil it. I've lived here 28 years and still get flak for the accent. I liken it to the English and French but the Scots(minority) get even more riled because most of the English don't get hung about the Scots(minority) hating them Please feel free to throw abuse at the comment as Its only my opinion from living in Scotland. Most of the Scots are great and I love the place but 'its' there ![]() |

omg its only a game. but thugs like this just use football as an excuse. saying that being scottish in england is not a piece of cake either. i remember going out in plymouth when i was in the wren (in the days when you wore uniform outside) and was spat on. thought it was coz i was a wren but then it happened the next week whilst they called me a jock tart. yes i am i proudly announced and then spent next half an hour cowering in woolworths while the military police were called to escort me back to base.

Read in the paper today Scotlands First Minister Jack McConnells comment:
"I think here in Scotland we can have a laugh about football, we can enjoy the game - we can all chill out about this". Erm yeah right, thats clearly the case in the above links. And is he remotely suggesting we've got it fundamentally wrong about Rangers and Celtic and theres a lovey dovey feeling with this chilled out attitude at the derby matches? But given he is a politician Im kind of not surprised by the blinkered attitude and ignoring all the negative stuff. |

Whilst I'm no fan of the First Minister he has taken a high profile stand against sectarianism over the years and in particular the sort evidenced by Celtic and Rangers. |

And his comments previously made as to why he wouldnt be supporting England because our fans are "rioting" in comparison to the "peace loving" Scots? Bearing in mind the sectarian problem still exists. :P |
