Option C- it's a bent bit of aluminium, design your own? The R&G one's a bit more complicated, but sort of needlessly IMO.

About £15, the R&Gs about £30rrp but a friends selling one so i might get it cheap, but if its over £15 then the DBR is more favorable

Yeah could do, was worried about the bend i would need to put in it, didn't want to weaken it and it come straight off on impact, would be a bit of a waste of time then also could i get the right grade (and colour) ally for £15 and postage (can't be assed to source some in the real world )

They're not so much for impact, more to stop your foot going places it should't- you could make them out of ABS plastic, even, never mind bent ally.

What i ment was it won't save you toes from being chopped off if it hits and breaks first

Brought the DBR one anyway, the R&Gs a bit..............curvey

Just have to make sure its a rigid design which the R&G is, well the ally one is, otherwise any hit will make it bend.
