Why can't they pass a law that prevents people from suing if they're injured whilst committing a crime ?

i bought a new car on tuesday to replace our stolen and wrecked car. on the way home i was stopped and given a £30 fine for not wearing a seatbelt. amazing that you cant chase a scrote on a stolen bike not wearing a lid in case he gets hurt but they could "chase" me and fine me for not wearing a seat belt, what would have happened if i had crashed whilst they were stopping me in my taxed and insured car? would i be able to sue? of course not. bloody lazy tossers.

Some good citizen should have nudged the scum off the moped and under a very large, very heavy, with lots of wheels (and spikes for good measure) lorry. Which then by chance ran over the very same police man for being a prat. That's law, not this wet limp thing they call law these days!

"We must first consider the safety of the public at large, the time of day, number of people around, are there any pedestrians or young children playing nearby?" he said.

OK, but what has that to do with the actual story? That's all fair enough, you don't want police chases through busy streets- but it doesn't really answer the question here does it? Plain stupid...

Heard this on the radio, couldn't believe my ears.

What's next. Police can't shoot armed robbers unless they are both wearing bulletproof vests? Pursuit cars must have horsepower not exceeding that of the villians getaway cars to give them a 'fair chance'.

If police don't want to/can't take these risks, bikers are mostly big and clever enough to protect their own property. It'll happen....

Its a sad fact that we live in a society where everyone sues everyone for pathetic reasons. You know how it is, "car crashes in police chase, kills innocent bystanders" police then get slated, public uproar, public want justice etc etc... sound far fetched? well it happens.

Hampshire has a no pursuit policy on motorcycles, its not the case that we don't want to, its the case that we get told to stand down (believe me when i say how frustrating it is). Its the inspector in the control room who decides if we pursue a vehicle, car or otherwise.

Remember....these criminals have rights as well

Yeah, they have rights. But they DON'T have the right to nick someone's bike and then have the cheek to run around shouting 'You can't touch me'. They chose their fate at that point surely?

There's something seriously wrong with the way the law is interpreted in cases like this. Similarly, a previous thread on protecting your home with a spiked fence or barbed wire, seems perfectly reasonable to me. You don't cross that boundary, you don't get hurt.

See i feel sorry for coppers in situations like this, they get the training and then get told there not aloud too use it or end up too scared to use it in case they get sued or fired etc.

Their trained to do a job, the thieving ****s know what they are getting themselves into, game on in my eye's
