Default What makes you smile and what winds you up

I guess this has been asked before so I apologise in advance but I guess I'm a tad inquisitive.

The question is really bike/car/road user (or passenger) related. There's not enough bandwidth to cover everything.... is there?

All light hearted so no specifics an no names please.

1) What makes you smile?
What do you enjoy about your bike, journey way you ride etc. e.g. Good route to work, car drivers waving you past in a queue etc.

2) What winds you up?
What upsets you on your bike? e.g. Inconsiderate road users or cyclists undoing your luggage or setting fire to it (joke)

Have fun!

A,the noise it's capable of making, and admiring it when it's clean!

B,DIESEL! Everything about it I hate! Diesel cars, buses, fumes, and especially SPILT diesel on roundabouts!

Smile: bike cops on the M1 last sat. I was doing about 90 in lane 3 and pulled over and slowed a bit when I spotted them. They went straight past, gave me the thumbs up and i got to follow them at about 110 for the rest of the trip with no worries of getting pulled.

Mad: this bloody hot weather. All sweaty when I get to work, bring back the snow.

Smile - not a lot I'm afraid. Though the other night some bloke was walking his dog, who obviously had a problem with bikes. Well this dog went mad when I rode past, the bloke was having to practically sit down to stop the dog running after me. After the initial '**** that could have been nasty' I couldn't stop laughing!

Mad - Tail gaters, and as a girly I can say this, (I hope ) But bloody women are the worse, don't they realise what a sensible gap is? FFS.

Nutty x

smile - just getting out on my bike

sad - people pulling over to stop you filtering thru traffic jams. always want to scrape my boot along their car. usually someone at other side will move over to let you thru then give baddie the finger as you get past which then makes me smile

Smile - Just being out on the Bike. Nailing a corner well. Racing Captain Nemo down a hill and getting beaten, only to find the cops waiting round the corner with speed guns

Sad - Diesel on roads. Getting stopped by the Garda every week for being English.

smile, ?

when i filter to the front of a que and the car next to be nudges forward a tiny amount, just to let me know he intends to go first, i like to look accross, smile , then destroy him (it is always men) when the lights go green. and the best bit, i dont have to put any effort into his destruction, just gently open the throttle and bye bye gti

winds me up?

when youre getting ready to pass a line of traffic and one or more vehicles pulls accross to the centreline in an attempt to stop you going by, even though they choose to be in theyre comfy £20k cars they hate the fact that your 4 grand bike is getting somewhere quicker than them.

Sounds mad, but I love filtering. Proper fast, aggro, slightly unhinged filtering Nailing a shrinking gap just right, or avoiding someone who seems to be trying to kill me, that makes me smile.

What winds me up? Red runners. There's 2 roundabouts on my commute where you have to be out of your mind to go on green, you need to wait, and then look, and you still can't be 100%. All it takes is one slip and someone'll have your leg off. No need for it at all, it's just ridiculously bad driving, hate it.

I've got the vespa and the gsxr which have their separate loves and hates.

On the vespa - I love filtering and can keep up with the big boys on the A4. I hate it tho' when I get a slow big bike which just won't pull in even if I'm faster on the scoot.

On the Gixxer - I love it that a slight twist on the throttle will take me from 100 to 130 and laying off it will take it down to 90. I hate it that I'm still not that competent yet and still **** myself on corners.
