Sidcup Motorcycle Tyres £205 for the tyres (ride in ride out) and another £25 for ultraseal in them.
I don't think that's pricey - easy to get to, they knew what they were doing, had a well kept work area, loads of advice for anyone who came in regarding tyre types, what could be altered in terms of sizes and how it would affect handling. Everything put back carefully with copaslip and grease... not all places bother doing it right. Checked the brake pads, etc. while it was up in the air too... I'd go there again - rather pay the extra and get good service than a rush job in and out while they're dealing with a huge queue of people as fast as possible. Tyre pressures from the latest Pirelli guide state 34 front and 36 rear for the SV650, which is 1 up in the front tyre over this time last year, from the same guide. They had new scrubbing in advice though - rather than the "ride carefully for first 100 miles" quip, it's now "ride like it's raining for the first 30 of it, then for the remaining 70, ride like it's stopped raining and roads are drying more and more until at 100 you're riding normally" I thought the D220's were alright but the stradas definitely have more grip - not tons more, but enough to make it noticeable and the quicker change of direction is nice. I'll try and make these last longer than 2 weeks. |
