hi guys n girls,
I'm just getting ready with my hacksaw to start hackin away through my pipe on my 99 curvy sv with the stock exhaust, and just wanted to check a few things before I start. Im fitting a beowulf oval can onto the bike but there werent any instructions with it, I phoned the dealer and he said there arent any for this exhaust, just make sure the outside diameter on the pipe is smaller than the inside diameter of the link pipe supplied'. The link pipe has a diameter of 50mm but until i cut the pipework in half I cant measure the diameter of the pipe..... I've seen that the general consensus is to cut between 40-50mm ABOVE the weald on the pipe but the circumference is 17.2cm and the circumference of the link pipe(outside) is 18.1cm making it approx 17.8 on the inside of the link pipe.. does the link pipe shrink to fit the size of the original pipe that much (5-6mm)? It's probably dead straight forward but Im being very paranoid.. Hope you can help. Cheers Phil Any suggestions on fitting the can - or is there a link someone could pass on for a 'how to' sort of thing?? |

Just cut it, I am sure it will clamp down fine - if not then it will just leak a bit until you get it sorted.

WAAAAHHHHHHEYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Just finished it!! Took me 45 mins including cuttin time using a hacksaw with steel cuttin blade (x2).. Cut 2 inch above weald (bit finicky but not too bad). Got the new can with link pipe attached already (but loosely) got it all in a good position and tightened up nice and secure... Sounds superb!!!! ![]() I cannot recommend enough how much it improves the sound of the bike.. Best 1st MOD a bike can have IMO ![]() So what with the new beowulf oval can, mmmmmmmmmmm.. a pair of DHM's (I know they're not R n G's but better than nowt!!), new rear hugger and shiny new gold chain and sprocket and sortin meself some braided brake hoses next week, I'm comin along nicely, consider I bought it last november (but couldnt ride till feb due to not havin license) and it was a stock bike with absolutley no mods/improvements its much better now. As for handling, what would I be best spending my money on( on a relatively tight budget)? Answers on a postcard?? Cheers Phil |

Hi, I see you are really local to me. I am in West Drayton.
I was thinking about a Beowulf can, they are made in Halifax where I am from. Any chance of meeting up so I can have a close look at the can and listen to what it sounds like. Cheers, Tony 0794 6449107 |
