Default Thieving sick scum

nightmare start to morning at work,
had a customer come in with a very serious complaint;

His lad had bought a pair of gloves from us (£80 one, so not cheap), tried one in shop-fine.
Goes home, goes to go out on bike, puts both gloves on and...theres a stanley knife blade in finger of glove-he spent 3hrs waiting in casulty and has 3 stitches in finger, gloves etc are covered in blood.

How come there was a knife blade in glove? Scumbag theives are using them to try and cut off our security tags, theyd obvs failed/given up on that pair so left the blade inside the glove

Luckily the customer has accepted a big apology from us and a full refund.

Ouch! Will be a bit more careful next time i'm buying gloves. These scumbags not easy to spot coming into the shop though? My local HG's pretty quiet so these kinds of people stick out.

Jeez...that's bad

Do you have CCTV footage that you can look back on?

I guess it's a good job that shops have to have public liability insurance in place, and also that the customer was sensible and realised it wasn't the shops fault.

Could have been so much worse.
