Default air ambulance landed in my garden!!

well as good as..

was having "lunch" al fresco today .... when crikey ! what a noise and the air ambulance was overhead.. then turned and came so so low could see the pilot-
landed onthe disused cricket pitch at back of my house and picked up some woman who WALKED to the chopper..

so dunno what was wrong or waht she was doin inthe field.. !!

I jumped ontop of the shed to get a better peek..

was exciting...! and the pilot looked like a fly !!

sent them to my local paper !....
see if they published or not... and I can claim a few thousand pounds copyright !

must be frightening if one of these helicopters is flying over you in anger if you in the forces or summat-- I am sure some of you can tell me if it is as u r ex forces or current .... so much power-- and when he left-- BOOM-- gone in seconds...

What was the woman doing on that piece of land?

I entered and exited a Chinook helicopter with blades going on Exercise.

The down draft nearly buried me in the ground and the noise was deafning.

But going hedge hoping was cool over Salisbury Plain.

( Chinook is the twin prop chopper for those who didn't know )

The dragged out an Air ambulance for that?

No wonder the NHS is haemorrhaging cash all over the place.

The field may have been chosen as the landing site...not because she was there.

If she was pregnant then it is a good reason to send it out. People can still look ok with serious medical needs.

Well I am being rather cynical, I admit!

However, it seems to me that a multi-million pound helicopter was sent on a sortie to pick up a woman with a sprained ankle!

Clearly we will never know the true circumstances behind this incident, and indeed it's not every day you see a heli plonk itself down next to your house. But I'd usually expect an Air Ambulance to be called for more obviously severe incidents, rather than a woman stuck in a field.

I guess they're not allowed to carry her out of the field because they're not insured or something!

Also it can go down as a practice sortie...getting the hours up for the pilots.

If it is there...might as well use it...if they are paying the crew loadsamoney...then let them earn it!!!
