Default Fork Oil

I think its time I changed the oil in my forks (There is so little rebound damping I can quite easily bounce the front wheel off the ground )
THeyve started to make some funny noises as well but I'm hoping that'll go away when I've changed the oil.

I have about 1.5 Litres of Halfords Medium Fork oil in my garage, but there is no indication of what SAE viscosity it is.

So:

Does anyone know what what viscosity it is ?

or

Should I buy some decent 15W and do the job properly.

Medium is usually 10W.
