IMHO theres two people at fault there.

The car driver for pulling out without looking. This could have been any car driver. Just because its a police car why does that make any different.

Also the biker. Inappropriate speed and pulling a wheelie from what I can see. Sorry but the bikers a moron. How good is his observation skills if he didnt see the police car parked up at the side of the road. He's just as much to blame as the car driver IMHO.

Its idiots like that that give the rest of us a bad name.

Looked like a regular venue for hooligan behaviour due to the amount of people watching.

As Fizz says equal parts blame although the car driver displayed shocking observation skills.

The copper was totally at fault IMO. That was murder as far as I'm concerned or at the very least manslaughter

Hope he got what he deserved.

interesting

It appeared to me that the cop pulled out on purpose but I could be wrong.

I'm shocked to the core seeing the mangled state of the biker.

So the car pulls out of a side turning in front of a speeding biker?

I agree you would have thought the driver would have been even more vigilant before pulling out? I mean he has been sat there watching the bikes blast by for some time.

I am edging to blaming the driver despite the misguided antics of the bikers.

Agreed. However.. this happens to me once or twice a week. Yet so far I'm still in one piece. Sorry but to expect higher standards of driving from a police officer is a bit much. To me that just looks like a normal patrol car. Not the car of a trained pursuit driver. I might be wrong on this though.

I think though that the driver standards of a police officer and upholder of the law should be beyond reproach and IMHO in this case his actions are certainly a contributing cause in what looks like a very nasty accident.

You could argue that if the biker hadnt been up on the back wheel he would have had more time to react to the car pulling out in front of him. He would also have had his front wheel on the ground and been able to use the most effective brake to slow him down i.e the front one.

I agree with Ping though. It does look like the car driver pulled out on purpose

I hadn't even considered the thought that this might have been intentional? Surely not with that many bikers stood around as witnesses?
