Default USB 2.0 PCMCIA 'Device cannot start (code10)' IT Help..

Please!! I'm going mad here!

I'm trying to install the above on a laptop running XP. It seems to install the drivers ok, but in devicew manager has a yellow ! by the device and gives the quote in the title of this post. If I then plug something into the card, it will work as a slow USB but not 2.0
I have tried reinstalling the drivers, from the disk and letting windows look for itself, always with the same result.
Does anyone know what the problem could be??

Thanks!!

Hi
are you sure that your USB port is USB 2.0?

I've plugged USB2 devices into Usb1.1 ports and have had messags saying it will not work to it's best.

Other idea, is have u checked the manufactureres website for the latest drivers. i.e. the people who make the PCMCIA card.

Hi

It's definitely a USB 2 and it's a PCMCIA card, so it goes in the slot on the side of the laptop. I doubt it's a driver release problem as I have the disk that came with it.
Thanks

HI, so it is a PCMCIA card that is a USB 2.0 adapter, so you can plug USB 2.0 devices into it.

OK, still think Update of drivers. Sometimes the drivers on the CD that come with the product are in need of update because of new faults that have been found when the product has been distributed. Also, check for any new updates for the LAPTOP that you are using, Check in the BIOS of the Laptop to see if there are any setting that need to be enabled for the PCMCIA slot

Have you got service pack 2? I think that has USB2 enabled on it, might be an issue there...
