I have an uncle who is a retired ambulance driver and his worst call was to pick up a motorbiker after an accident, only to find that it was his own son. Thankfully he recovered from the accident, but it did affect my uncle for many days. God bless all of those who are there to help us.

Sounds like it should be a good read! I get told this sort of story regularly (brother being a paramedic & his wife an ambulance tech.)

You should all have a 100% pay rise and a free cattle prod to deal with the abusers.

All the emergency services (maybe les so the police, although im sure its the minority letting the majority down...) should be on footballers wages, and footballers on thier wages.

How about someone mixes up the wages system of the top clubs with those of the NHS etc and swaps the names all around?

Top idea. I also propose a bonus scheme for traffic police:

When requesting a driver/rider to stop their vehicle, emphasis should be placed on tuition, rather than punishment. Therefore, a monetory bonus will be given to all officers for every motoring caution given at the scene as apposed to a fixed penalty. This applies regrdless of the offence, and will require the drivers signature as proof of a caution being provided.

My dad was a firefighter and due to proximity to the motorway attended many accidents. His worst was having to help cut the dead bodies of his best friend and wife out of their car.

When I first got into bikes at 16 I had horror story after horror story thrown at me. As a parent now, I can understand his concern.

Well worth a look this blog.Gritty reality but from a slightly cynical, slightly humourous standpiont.Does the writer have to use a nom de plume to prevent his employer sacking him? It's obvious who he actually is though as the circumstances described could be easily traced back.
