Dukes pass virgin

Right...I'm gonna try this Dukes Pass sometime this week.

I've only got about 2.5k under my belt so is this a bit too adventurous for me?

Dont want to end up down the side of a mountain.

Advice please

i did the dukes after 300 miles (very slowly) its like any other road, as long as you drive at a speed that you can stop within the distance you can see (on your own side of road) you should be fine. However now may not be the best time, http://forums.sv650.org/viewtopic.php?t=43397
The military road nad wibbly wobbly may be a better bet if your looking for a bit adventure, ask Nutty Tart.

when you doing it iam free most of this week if you need company not very expericend though

Have read about this but the two wheels off the ground stuff puts me off. I would need to get stiffer springs in before trying any of that malarkey. I'll leave that for the mountain biking meantime

Not at all Stuarty! Pick a gear, say 4th, and just bimble along. Uppy downy, lefty righty, wee glimpse of the loch, brilliant! No need to be Rossi unless you have a psychotic need to do 100mph everywhere.

Anyway, you can do 100* on the military road...

Hey Stuart, nothing to be scared of at dukes pass, just take it easy! Gingers right about this maybe not being the right time though.

i dont like dukes pass but thats cos i did it first day i bought my sv and met a bus on my side of the road.

have done it a couple of times since but not my fav road. now the military and wibbly wobbly fantastic.

military is nice and smooth with sweeping bends and only 10 min from my house

wibbly wobbly is just that

can get both wheels off the ground on at least 2 occasions but if you go slower you wont lift off. just watch out for the drain covers as they are usually positioned on a corner just where bike is landing.

best advice i can give for wibbly wobbly is take your time and grip with your knees

Military road ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ... Unless your doing about the ton mark then it becomes a lovely flowing bit of tarmac... At IAM speeds it F*CKING BORES me...

DUKES PASS is miles better...
