Default Music on hold?

Phoned my house insurance company on Friday to ask if they could do a better deal next year, as the internet is turning up same/better cover for 1/2 the premium...
While on hold, they played me 'Love of my life' by Queen which goes:

Love of my life - don't leave me
You've taken my love and now desert me
Love of my life can't you see
Bring it back, bring it back
Don't take it away from me
Because you don't know -
What it means to me

etc etc ...

Coincidence or marketing ploy?

it's like that episode of the Simpsons where Homer calls the parenting helpline, and gets "Cats in the Cradle"

I once accepted a job offer entirely because their answerphone music was the album Different Class by Pulp- I phoned up to check some details, got Live Bed Show, and thought "these guys are alright".

They played "Running the World" a few times on the big screen at Reading. Good chorus But I can't repeat it here. It sounded a lot like Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine to me, same sort of lyrical style too. Like a slowed down "Suppose You Gave A Funeral..." Which is good

HSBC phone banking.....drives me NUTS! It's some tallentless muppet on the piano, playing a tune that lasts all of 30 seconds, then starts again.
And as if it's not bad enough that they've been playing this crap since I became a customer 12 years ago, the quality of the recording has actually degraded over the years! It's as though they're playing it off a cassette tape!
Shocking really, hundreds of milions of pounds profit every year, and they wont even fork out a few hundred quid for some decent music! Music that, incidentally, you are guaranteed to hear for at least 15 minutes every time you call and speak to some bloke in Bombay who has to ask his supervisor what the date is and to whom you must repeat the spelling of your name at least 5 times.
