That was f*cking funny. Funniest thing I've seen in ages. I couldn't pick the bike up off the floor I was laughing so hard.
And there was no reason at all to tap the brake Darren. Don't lie to the nice people. Now ROB had a VERY good reason to use his brake, although he has wingmirrors for a reason. |

Aw bless ya hun, you're not the first to take a dab and drop it during a U-turn, neither will you be the last
I don’t mean to try and teach granny to suck eggs, knit tea cosies or any other geriatric pursuit. However, I find this technique most useful for U-turns and other tight place/space manoeuvres Set your revs at about 3k. Let the clutch out slowly until you start to move then hold it in that position. Rest your toe gently on the back brake. Proceed through the U-turn (don't forget to LOOK at your destination point on the opposite side of the road), using JUST your back brake to control your speed. There's some Voodoo involved (scientists call it gyroscopic forces but what do they know) that keeps the bike remarkably stable, even at the slowest crawl. Hope this helps ![]() PS For the sake of your clutch, the above Must Not be used over prolonged periods. |

At least you were moving when you dropped it!
I pulled up at some lights noticed a friend behind in my mirror and turned round to wave. Having recently polished the tank with ultra slippery polish the bike slid down my leg in flash leaving me the laughing stock of the adjacent lane of traffic and holding up a bunch of impatient cagers behind. ![]() Now I have a good excuse for not cleaning the bike though ![]() I'm sure most of us must have dropped a bike at some point ![]() |
