Default Dog bones any good?

Hi guys
I have started to grind the foot pegs thru corners since changing from dunlop d220 to something a whole lot nicer. So i was wondering what to do. I had a little look on ebay and rearsets look pretty expensive. So my question is will i improve the ground clearance by fitting dogbones? And if so is this a good mod or should I consider somenthing else.
Cheers Ryan

Its a good mod, cheap and easy (if you have a method of raising the bike without any weight on the swingarm - Abba stand etc or at least a trolly jack and some mates!! ).

But it is only a partial solution. Rearsets are the way forward, or at least some ‘jack up plates’ these raise the stock footpegs a bit.

Here, these sort of things:- http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SUZUKI-REARSET...QQcmdZViewItem

Some jack-up plates and the dogbones should see you a bit more lean before grounding out.

I don’t know how much you ‘get off the bike’ but often people are pretty static on the bike and this means they run out of clearance sooner.

I have never grounded out the pegs on my roadbike, and that is totally stock!! Maybee I don’t ride fast enough, but I do tend to ‘get off the bike' a fair bit when I am riding ‘energetically’

I've heard good things about the OSF rearsets, and they're pretty cheap... Not tried them though, I fancy Woodcrafts, which aren't. Not tried those either. But I do have some very cheap rearset risers which work just fine

Cheers Guys
Those jack up plates look like a good option I didnt think of that.
Are they gonna take any brains to fit , coz if so im in trouble.
Yeh I dont move around the bike at all. I tried it once or twice and felt pretty awkward and I was forgetting about other things and not riding well.
I think I need to do a trackday and get some confidence moving around the bike.

2 bolts out, 4 bolts in

I did have to adjust the rear brake light switch to allow for the change in position

And adjust the gear lever, too. I needed a wee extension thingy for the gear linkage... But still, dead dead easy. Weirdly, I found it more comfortable too.

Would it not be far cheaper to get new "hero blobs" for the footpegs? Titanium ones would be quite good.

I quite like the pegs where they are, it gives me a good indication of how close the bike is to the edge of the tyre. The pegs are not in such a bad postion as standard. Unlike the Deauville, I have scraped both sides of the bike but still have about 15mm of unworn tyre on both sides. And it wasn't the pegs that were scraping the ground.
