Default London Advanced Motorcyclists

Having been pointed in the direction of the IAM earlier today, I was looking at the LAM (the South London group) website.

Aparently if you join after Oct 1st you get 18 months membership (they run their membership year March to March).

This is because they "dont get out much" over winter.

Seems like a bargain to me, so will probably sign up in a week or so

Just thought I would pass on the info.

David

EDIT - Corrected title

Some advice.. I would go with the Kent group.

Slightly better set up, you will stick with the same rider throughout your training, London you will have a different rider/teacher each week!

Kent & London, operate in virtually the same area. Kent start off at Riverhead Sevenoaks which is a nice ride to. Meet up have a drink and a chat go off riding! Costs about £10 per rideout, membership??

Are you talking about people who already have their IAM cert?

They DO state they do rides in winter - and I agree with you - its why I am considering joining up next week

LAM most certainly do operate over the winter. I started with them last November, so am still using up my first year's membership. A good group; you'll enjoy the pot-luck sessions, getting your bike dirty riding around Surrey.

Psychocannon - Hope to see you at the cricket club in Welwyn Garden City 1st Tuesday October. It's a good section that rides all year.
Have you looked at the HBAM web site http://www.hbam.org
PM me if you don't where it is.
