Where it says "Driver Number" - does this mean i put in my Driving Lisence Number? Its says it isnt compulsary, but I'll put it on anyway

All you should need is your Name, Address, date of purchace / transfer and both parties signatures. There are seperate sections for transfer of ownership to a shop or company are you sure you're on the right section?

Fair enough, been a while since I filled one out, I reckon if it's optional leave it out, if you put the wrong thing in it'll only cause havoc

Make sure you keep a copy of the log book, just incase the new owner decides to break all manner of laws whilst the log book is being changed.

Fair enough, I'll wait for some other peoples opinions aswell (not saying i dont trust your judgment! I just wanna be sure) then decide what to do and send it off

Yes, "Driver Number" does mean Driving Lisence Number, but you don't have to put it on.

If you look on the back of the V5 there are all the instructions you will need.

Never trust a copper then.
Becuase it is the seller that is responsible for filling it out and sending off. You get to keep a little tear off section. (incase he doesn't and the new one doesn't get posted to you)

I've never put my Licence number on it or recorded the mileage (also optional)
