I had a brief flirtation with a Dynojet stage 1 kit and was left dissapointed I now have a Factory Pro stage 2 kit which gives an impressive boost in midrange and a little more at the top end too - much better There are other alternatives from "JHS Racing" and "Ivans" etc. Both stage 1 and 2 are a bit fiddly to fit but you'll be OK if you are reasonably compitent with the spanners and proceed carefully. I must warn you, it's one thing fitting it and another setting it up Unless you get lucky you will probably end up removing your carb's numerous times to try different settings.

IMHO, there a waste of money unless you go to the stage 1&3 kits or the JHS one which is specific for the BMC race RS filter

In a dyno jet kit you get 2 pilot jets which are already the size you got in the SVs carbs anyway, 2 needle with adjustment slots which you've also got already, springs which you've got and a hand full of jets which you could pick up from wemoto for £3 each...oh and some dyno jet stickers which make all the difference

I read the instructions on some kits because i heard the springs in them were stiffer but they said that they were just in case you lose the originals

In one of the kits available you get tank spacers which prop the tank by 25mm (you can make these or buy them from chewy22) and a drill bit to open out the slide hole (informations widely available on SV websites) so even that doesn't make it worth buying

But saying that it is a bit of a gamble getting the main jet sizes right with out a dyno run to check fueling

At the end of the day, it depends on what you've modded to what size jets you need and then a dyno run is best after to check you got it right and remember..this is just my opinion and what i've been looking at since i've done mine

P.S. I'm running a micron full system, BMC race RS and 155 jets which i'm still trying to get right, i'm looking at fitting around the 160~165 mark

Oh, back on topic, changing the main jets is easy, getting the carbs out is a tedious job, especially as you'll probably do it 7-100 times I can now do it blind folded with my right hand tide behind my back because i've had to take mine off so many times trying new size jets

and while your there change the screws for stainless ones (which also come in one of the jet kits but again are pennys)

i am getting the 1-3 kit. i have a blueflame exhaust and am getting a k&N filter to go with it. i am not sure which filter - box filter or cone filter. the baffles are also coming out of the exhaust when i get it.

do the dynojet instructions tell you what jet size you need.

will the bike drink more fuel

thanks

why do you need tank spacers?

Feeds more air to the filter, lift the tank and take that black foam off anyway it helps.

I have DJ144, K&N filter and end can, runs sweet as a nut

I found the 1&3 kit pretty poor... The suggested jets are all off (well, I think so, 21Quest disagrees ) since the system was designed for the original, rubbish K&N, long since replaced. If you use a better filter (Race RS) and a full system, then you're probably going to want jets right in the gap in the kit- it goes up to high 40s then jumps to 180. Having said that, I'm now using 180s but most people with desnorks, Race RSs etc will want somewhere from 150-175

The Factory Pro Stage 2, and JHS stage 2 kits are miles better, IMO. Expensive, but both come with Race RS filters and they're actually suitably specced.

Deboxing the SV is more work. For better results, I hear you need to drill out the main air jet. But then, with the monster K&Ns the jetting's more or less the same as you'd use with no filter at all, apparently. Still never got round to it though I intend to- my modding powers are at a low ebb

At the end of the day, unless you have a full system you won't get the full benefits, and if you do buy a full system then it costs too much for the gains Cams are better for power. Similiar gains, nice change to the overall curve shape, £130 if you do it on the cheap. Won't even buy you a JHS jet kit.

Stock filter's about £15 but the aftermarket ones are more. Jase22 found this guy though:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Suzuki-SV650-9...QQcmdZViewItem

That link's for a Race (the K&N equivalent) not an RS (the one worth buying) but he has them apparently. You need to be very careful buying BMC, since the Race and RS are so different but have similiar names and part numbers (same part number in fact, if memory serves, 205/10)

If you do a Race RS, you definately need to rejet... But what sizes with a slipon, I don't know. 150 or so dynojets I'd guess, but that really is a guess.
