Got my first interview in about 10 years this morning, and i can safely say i'm a tad nervous
![]() I've worked pretty much all my life in a production/factory orientated enviroment, have had steady promotion throughout my career, i feel that i have come to a point in my life where i need a change and i can't progress any further within my company, so i applied for a multitude of jobs varying from sales to production manager, and i've gone and got myself an interview for a very large Vauxhall/Saab/Chevrolet dealership as a sales executive ![]() ![]() Any tips for the interview? I won't crack any jokes ![]() Cheers in advance. And i think this might possibly be my first serious thread ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Try and research a bit about the Company and the product. Sell yourself but don't lie. As you are going for a sales role they will be looking for someone that can sell themselves. Look smart and confident and try to relax. Consider your answers before answering. You don't have to answer within 0.1 milliseconds. Don't ramble.

Was in a similar situation a year ago - I am assuming you still have a job and so dont "need" this one, just want a change.
1) Be yourself - if they dont like the "real you" you are going to have a crap time if you get the job as you will have to keep up the front you put up at the interview. 2) They need you as much as if not more than they need you - if it isnt what you thought, or they dont fit with you then walk away. 3) Rememeber you are going to be giving them a huge chunk of your life - interview THEM, why should YOU work for them? Basically you are the one with the power and control here, so use it. Have fun Tell some jokes, after all, thats you.....

When I got my current job, I had a big barely-scabbed cut on my forehead and 2 fingers strapped together- top conversation point! So that's my recommendation. Squash your fingers in your bike, and have someone break an acoustic guitar over your head.
