Default I got pulled over *again* today...

This is getting embarrassing. I am up in court in a few weeks. And, I am getting pulled over all over the shop. Its like every time I sit on my bike I am breaking the law. (Actually... that's more or less true.)

In AmericKa, GOD BLESS IT, you are meant to drive your bike but pretend its a car. You have to set up a special magic space around you, and pretend that you have a car covering all that space, and then drive about.
So, you cannot, for instance, drive through traffic. As I was told today "You have to wait like everyone else".
No real point to the post. Just... that I dunno... Americans are all retarded. Has to be. And they can get their laws, and they can shove them up thier fat... nevermind.

Anyway. Yeah. Normally I get off, thats the thing, I suppose once the cops realise that, not only am I not black, sure don't I have a fair lovely Oirish accent, and sure didnt their ma's friend's aunt see a photo of Ireland one time. If that doesnt work, and by Christ I lay it on thick loike, I have my special police corruption card. Dammit, that doesnt always work in NYC though. And that place is crawling with cops.

Hence the court date in a few weeks.

Sigh. I suppose you have you NIPS in the post. But, I still feel its just not cricket. Seriously. I dare any of you to try driving like that for a day.

You'll crack.

I do wonder, with those rules n all, why they don't sell all bikes in Amerika with four thin bouncy wires attached, with little bright yellow balls on the ends; one to extend to each corner of the rough space a car would take up.

Y'know - just to remind you like!

The thing is that I can see some swolen ego eejit over here trying to push this sort if thing here and make it law in the line of improving 'safety'. I was talking to a few work bods the other day who were all saying that filtering was one of the main advantages of bikes but they thought the act of filtering was illegal.

Anyway good luck in court.

Now it all makes sense. Well, let me explain. About 2 years back me and the good lady went to San Francisco. I saw plenty of bikes and plenty of traffic jams. What I could not understand is that why on Earth the bikes would sit there not filtering. It was a totally alien concept to me. I was even shouting at them from the cab "Go on you can get a bus through there mate". Now I know why. I would like to know the reason why filtering is illegal in the US, too many law suits?

God knows why filtering is illegal over there... must be really bizzare when they see us shooting through the traffic over here. Anyone want to go onto svrider and ask them.

it's not illegal in all states, I think parts of Cali let you do it, was fun doing it when I was livin on the east coast, the looks you got .

Probably due to the fact that before Jap sports bikes the only ones availible were as big as a car anyway .

Stupid rule (but cage drivers in DE anyway are worse than here for observation) but think it through;

Treat your bike like a car
Create a 'safety bubble' around yourself.
Lets you drive round in shorts with a wife beater top and no helmet.

Logical really

But PhilyMac.... if you kept the front wheel on the ground too they might not notice you so much.

Seriously tho, ive had the misfortune of riding behind 2 cop bikes all the way to work once and they did 30mph the whole way. Now there are certain parts of this 30mph route that i regularly do at double that and obviously being cop bikes they did flter when they could. And that whole experience, all 30 mins of it, drovve me nuts enough.
I dont think i'd cope with having a bike but not being allowed to filter on it.

Those parts would be where Spidey is speeding up away from the lights, and where he slows down to them again. I've seen you!!
