Default Pulled again :(

Commuting to work today, and got pulled

Completely my own fault. Bugger. Was filtering through traffic on the A55, including what Mr. Plod calls "undertaking" (car in right lane, me in left going faster than them). "Undertook" a line of 3 cars, tucked back infront of the lead car, leaving plenty of room.

Did my lifesaver as I was about to move over & thought "oh blimey" (or words to that effect), it was a silver Ford Focus with the red paint on the bonnet. Unmarked arrive alive car.

So he flashed me to pull over, which I duly did. Had a nice little chat, but luckily for me, I wasn't speeding (even though I was faster than the traffic in the right lane), and he was a biker himself

Let off with a stern talking to! He seemed overall impressed that I was wearing the right gear, including high vis. He wasn't too pleased I had an MP3 player, but when he found out what I was listening to (The Art of War - Sun Tzu) he said it could of been far worse, and at least I could still hear things going on, and it's not like music would be affecting my riding.

So I was lucky, bring on another day! I do still think about that helicopter vid on my stretch of commute though.

Seems you got a nice cop.

I understood if the traffic in the outside lane was moving slower than the inside lane and you werent breaking the speed limit, that was legal?

Obviously not

They were doing around 60mph in a 70 zone. Still technically driving without due care

But yea, he was a nice guy (kinda).

Dr. Rich, it was prolly me listening to The Art of War that meant I didn't see the yellow & blue V70 facing me later on down the road (I think the Arrive Alive guy asked for someone to be sat waiting). Luckily he was on the opposite side of the road to me as I passed, and well, I'll admit that I was speeding (who doesn't on here?). As I looked into my mirrors I saw him light up like a xmas tree, and pull off the expressway, to turn around.

My instinct was (and I wouldn't advise anyone do this) to nail the bike, since I was coming off at the next junction anyway. I got lucky, but I'll put money on it there's someone waiting next week.

*awaits berrating by the safety brigade*

Disclaimer: What I did was neither big or clever, and was an instinct decision. If I'd of been caught, all I could of done would be to hold my hands up & accept the likely ban for my actions. I do not advise anyone else do the same in any situation.

theres a great bit of the highway code which states your only allowed to undertake if traffic in the right lane is stationary or 'moving slower'. It has to be moving slower in order to undertake!!

Can't see a problem with what you were doing, unless you were going at a silly speed? If there was enough room for you to undertake 3 cars and they were doing under the speed limit then they are the ones that should have been done not you!

Would he have had the same attitude to a dck in an Astra with bass box? Probably not. Why is it so OK to have loud music in a car that already has the only 360 degree sense mostly filtered out?

*awaits
I've done that...

As an aside, I had an mp3 player on at the time and it certainly contributed to me riding a bit quick (and I'll hold up my hands and say it was too fast for the section of road, not just legally, but morally ) and also not noticing the police car coming the other way till the last minute. I got away with it, but it's not big or clever.
