i'm doing a few jobs on a 600k1 and could do with a few words with an owner.

hi Matt, can you do an oil and filter without taking the fairing off? and what are the chain adjusters like on the k1?

When i had my K1 600, i did the oil / filter by removing just one of the side panels.
The chain adjusters are a bolt with a lock nut type.

Edit: Right hand side panel i believe it was.

Oil and filter...if you have tiny hands i suspect

Its very tight inside there, it would be safer to take off the fairings. Mind you, my dad did that so he could clean them properly too (his bikes are sterile, you can do operations on them).

Overall K1's arnt a bad bike to work on i dont think, my dad had more trouble with ZX6-R's doing work (but he loved doig my SV )
